Bolton Lakeshore Drive Pedestrian Study Survey

The Town of Bolton, with assistance from the Adirondack/Glens Falls Transportation Council (AGFTC), is conducting a study to identify potential pedestrian improvements on Lakeshore Drive (NYS Route 9N) between Bixby Road and Sweet Briar Lane.

DRAFT Warrensburg Main Street Corridor Study Now Available

A draft of the Warrensburg Main Street/Route 9 Corridor Study is now available for public review and comment: https://agftc.org/publications/draft-warrensburg-main-street-route-9-corridor-study/

The Corridor Study was undertaken by the Adirondack Glens Falls Transportation Council (A/GFTC) and the Town of Warrensburg to assess the safety and multimodal access along a critical transportation link in the Town of Warrensburg.

The focus of the study is to identify feasible conceptual improvements that would transform the Main Street corridor into a welcoming, safe, and accessible environment for pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists. Key areas of emphasis include enhancing pedestrian safety and improving traffic mobility along the corridor. Additionally, the study will address parking solutions to better accommodate both residents and visitors.

Transportation Air Quality Conformity Determination available for public comment

A/GFTC is announcing a public review and comment period for the draft Albany-Schenectady-Troy, NY air quality conformity determination.

This conformity determination addresses all transportation projects in the Capital Region Transportation Council (Transportation Council) (formerly known as Capital District Transportation Committee) 2025-2030 Transportation Improvement Program and the In Motion: The Plan to 2050  Long Range Plan, the Adirondack/Glens Falls Transportation Council (A/GFTC) 2025-2030 Transportation Improvement Program and 2045 Ahead Long Range Plan, and the Capital Program of Transportation Projects in Greene, Montgomery and Schoharie Counties.

The draft conformity determination is also available at the Transportation Council website at http://www.capitalmpo.org and the NYSDOT website at Statewide Transportation Improvement Program.

This period of review will begin on August 7, 2025, and end on September 5, 2025.   Any comments should be submitted to info@agftc.org under the subject matter “Air Quality Conformity Determination” no later than September 4, 2025.

Draft NYS Transportation Master Plan

The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) has released the draft New York State Transportation Master Plan 2050. The draft plan proposes a community-centered vision for the state’s transportation system that emphasizes the role of transportation in fostering healthy, thriving communities.   NYSDOT is continuing to seek comments from the public and other interested groups and organizations on the draft Transportation Master Plan and thus has extended the comment period for feedback for an additional two weeks – through August 11, 2025.  All those interested in sharing input are encouraged to go to the project website at New York State Transportation Master Plan – PublicInput to read the plan and submit comments.  You can also view recordings of the two virtual public meetings that were held on the plan on the website in the “Get Involved” section of the website. 

CDTA TIP Amendment requests available for public comment

The Adirondack / Glens Falls Transportation Council’s (A/GFTC) hereby releases for public review and comment the following requests from the Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) to amend the A/GFTC Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) to add additional Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funds to facilitate the following capital projects:

  • $50,000 ($40,000 federal share, $10,000 local share) for passenger facility improvements, including signing and shelters at various locations within CDTA’s service area
  • $1,430,000 ( $1,144,000 federal share, $286,000 local share) for bus and trolley replacements and expansions

DRAFT Greenwich Bike-Pedestrian Connections Plan Available

The draft Greenwich Town-Village Bicycle Pedestrian Connections Plan is now available for review at the following link: https://agftc.org/publications/greenwich-town-village-bicycle-pedestrian-connections-plan/

This plan provides a long-term vision for improving bicycle and pedestrian connections within the Town and Village. The goal of the plan is to allow residents and visitors to better utilize existing community amenities while improved connections to the Empire State Trail will support the local economy.

Greenwich Bike and Pedestrian Connectivity Improvements – Survey Available

Working with the Town and Village of Greenwich, A/GFTC has identified draft recommendations to improve pedestrian and bicycle connectivity. This effort focuses on developing a network between the Town/Village and the Empire State Trail and concepts for key priority areas.

Draft UPWP available for public comment

A/GFTC’s draft UPWP (Unified Planning Work Program) is now available for public comment. The UPWP is A/GFTC’s annual work program and contains a listing of proposed and intended federally funded transportation planning tasks to be carried out during the upcoming State Fiscal Year (4/1/25 – 3/31/26) by staff, member agency staff, and consultant assistance. DRAFT Argyle Pedestrian Improvement Plan Now Available

The draft Argyle Pedestrian Improvement Plan is now available for public review and comment at this link: https://agftc.org/publications/draft-argyle-pedestrian-improvement-plan/. This plan builds upon previous pedestrian planning efforts in the Village and Town of Argyle by developing concepts, streetscape typologies, and cost estimates for pedestrian amenities in and around the Village.
