Requested TIP Amendments from CDTA

The Capital District Transportaiton Authority is seeking the following amendments to the A/GFTC Transportation Improvement Program to direct Federal Transit Administration Section 5307 and 5339 funds to the following proposed expenditures:

  • $1.145M to support Information Technology enhancements and replacements
  • $1.823M for purchase or lease of trolleys and buses to meet service demands
  • $0.040M for replacement of non-revenue support vehicles

These requests are for elements included within CDTA’s approved State Fiscal Year 24-25 budget. The notice of intent to apply for these funds was advertised regionally via legal notices as of May 11, 2024. The requests will be considered for approval by the A/GFTC Policy Committee at its next meeting on June 12, 2024. Glens Falls Middle School and High School Circulation Study available for public comment

The draft final report for the Glens Falls Middle School and High School Circulation Study is available for public comment through June 8, 2024. The study (linked here), conducted by Creighton Manning Engineering and commissioned by A/GFTC on behalf of the Glens Falls School District, contains capital improvement concepts and operational recommendations that the School District and the City of Glens Falls may consider to improve traffic and access safety conditions in and around the Middle School and High School campus. Draft annual work program (UPWP)

The draft annual work program for A/GFTC, known as the Unified Planning Work Program or UPWP, has been approved by the A/GFTC Planning Committee for release for public comment. The UPWP is a listing of proposed staff and consultant tasks for the upcoming State Fiscal Year (April 1 2024 – March 31, 2025). Included projects are the result of requests by our member municipalities in response to a region-wide candidate project solicitation. DRAFT Rural Workforce Transportation Plan now available

The DRAFT Rural Workforce Transportation Plan is now available for public comment at the following link: https://agftc.org/publications/draft-rural-workforce-transportation-plan/

This plan, created in partnership with the Lake Champlain-Lake George Regional Planning Board, is intended to develop a comprehensive understanding of the transportation needs and gaps which hinder workforce participation in the A/GFTC region, identify opportunities to improve connectivity of workers to employment centers, and identify transformative transportation infrastructure projects.

Comments will be accepted via email to jack@agftc.org until December 5.

NOTE: This document also includes the draft Albany – Schenectady – Troy, NY Air Quality Conformity Determination, which addresses all transportation projects in the Capital Region Transportation Council (CRTC, formerly known as Capital District Transportation Committee) 2022-2027 Transportation Improvement Program and the New Visions 2050 Long Range Plan, the Adirondack/Glens Falls Transportation Council (A/GFTC) 2022-2027 Transportation Improvement Program and 2045 Ahead Long Range Plan, and the Capital Program of Transportation Projects in Greene, Montgomery and Schoharie Counties.

A presentation of the Draft Long Range Plan update, 2045 Ahead, will be given at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 as part of the A/GFTC Planning Committee meeting. The presentation will include an overview of planning principles and future priorities concerning safety, road and bridge conditions, traffic congestion, public transportation, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, and more. A recording of the presentation and the draft plan will be posted on this website after the meeting. DRAFT White Creek Pedestrian and Parking Study Available

The draft Town of White Creek Pedestrian and Parking Feasibility Study is now available for public comment through August 9, 2023. This study examined pedestrian improvements and parking needs near the Cambridge Community Forest and Town Hall area including Rockside Drive and Mountain View Drive.
